Today we had the pleasure of spending time with Mae Vincent, the proud owner of the house that’s been under repair. Mae is an incredible 100 years old. While her short-term memory may not be as sharp as it once was, her wit and humor are still very much alive.
At one point, we playfully asked Mae how old she would be next year. Without missing a beat, she replied, “One year older.” The whole room erupted in laughter—her quick answer was as sharp as any of ours.
Mae may not always remember the details of what we did, but that doesn’t stop her from enjoying the written word. Calvin and Kevin thoughtfully wrote down the day’s events so she could revisit them later. Seeing her smile as she read what had happened made it clear how much those little gestures mean.
It was a visit filled with warmth, laughter, and a reminder that even as time passes, Mae’s presence brings a joy and lightness that everyone around her cherishes.
