Our day trip to King’s Point, Newfoundland turned into much more than just sightseeing—it became a gathering filled with good food, laughter, and conversation.
A Meal to Remember
We arrived in time for what could only be called a “late lunch, early supper,” and the spread did not disappoint. For my plate, I couldn’t resist ordering the Turkey Mess—a hearty dish of freshly cut French fries, layered with tender turkey, savory dressing, and topped with rich, warm gravy. It was comfort food at its finest, and every bite was worth it.
Down by the Wharf
After our meal, we strolled down to the wharf area, where the fresh salt air and colorful stages gave us that true Newfoundland coastal feel. The water was calm, the boats gently swayed, and it was one of those simple moments where you feel lucky just to be there.
Good Company, Great Stories
Of course, what made the day truly special was the company. Those who attended shared stories and yarns, catching up on the topics of the day and spinning a few good laughs along the way. The food may have filled our bellies, but the fellowship filled our hearts.
Wrapping Up
King’s Point gave us more than a beautiful setting—it gave us a memory of a meal and a gathering that we’ll carry with us. Sometimes, it’s not just about where you go, but who you’re with and the stories you share over a plate of food.
